Rev. (Mrs.) Christiana Bamidele George was born on Dec. 12th 1955, the first Child of the family of Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, from Edo state, Nigeria. She finished both her Primary and Secondary education in Benin City before proceeding to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) in Accountancy. On graduating, she worked for the next five years as a Senior Accounting Officer with the First Bank of Nigeria Plc.
In 1985, she resigned to go into business with her husband, a re-tired Air-line Pilot, a businessman and a philanthropist. They prospered and God established them. However, in 1990, she felt the call of God on her life to help the less-privileged in society. Thirsty for biblical knowledge, she then proceeded to International Bible Institute in London for Biblical Studies. Dele George decided to dedicate the rest of her life to champion the course of the less-privileged in our society especially abandoned/abused and orphaned children. Through this family relief Center of the Strong Tower Relied Mission located in Abule Egba, Lagos, many needs of the poor, widows and women with unplanned pregnancies are met on a regular basis. Packages of food are distributed to the poor. The widows are given money for petty trade and the elderly are placed on allowances.
After that she founded Little Saints Orphanage which is a home to orphans, abused and abandoned children. This home caters for the needs of these children daily and many of them have gone on to complete their studies (up to tertiary institutions) and are doing amazing things in life.
Even with the hundreds of adults and children she takes care daily, through the help of God and also the contribution of donors and sponsors, there still came a burden. This burden was what birth SAFE HAVEN FOR CHILDREN.
She has won so many awards both internationally and locally. REV. MRS. DELE GEORGE initiated the formation of the Association of Orphanages and homes Operators in Nigeria ( ASOHON ) in 2009, made up of genuine registered orphanages in the seven geographical zones in Nigeria. In May 2015 ASOHON received an AWARD of recognition from Lagos State Ministry of Youth & Social Development. Dele George was President of the association Until July 2020. She is now the current chairman of the board of trustees of the association of orphanages and homes operators in Nigeria (ASOHON)
